DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT
Text:- ‘’And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7 KJV)
Introduction: The tripartite God, (i.e. Father, Son and Holy Ghost) created triune man to have body, soul, and spirit for sustenance in the Morning, Afternoon and Night(MAN). Really, no man can exist in isolation of the body, soul and spirit
Henceforth, every man is configured or Wired by Almighty God to have:
1. Body;
2. Soul;
3. Spirit.
Body: this is the outer part of man formed From the dust of the ground for physical existence. It is nothing than empty case which will be rotten to become the food of maggot on the day of death. No wonder Eccl. 12:7a says “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was”
Soul: this is the inner part of man for psychological existence. This part of us needs to be regenerated so as not to end up in eternal pain. Matthew 16:26 say “for what profit is to a man who gains the whole world and looses his own soul? For what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Spirit: this is the inner most part of man for spiritual existence. This is the most crucial part of us created purposely to fellowship with God. John 4:24 says “God is spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” This invisible or immortal part of us goes back to God, the giver at the day of death. Many wonder Eccl. 12:7b says “and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”
Conclusion:Know yourself a.k.a. self consciousness makes you to discover yourself to recover yourself. Here on earth, every human being stands between heaven and earth either to be more conscious of God so as to end up in His eternal glory or to be more conscious of self (i.e. flesh) so as to end up in eternal pain with the devil. The choice of your eternal and final home is yours. You had better choose wisely!
